QULOC offers all library staff in university libraries many opportunities for professional development:

  • QULOC wiki members area - Any staff member from a QULOC member library can sign up for access to the wiki, which allows Working Party and Reference Group members to work collaboratively and to access a central repository of information.

  • QULOC Blog - Meetings, workshops/events, and current vacancies in QULOC member institutions are often advertised on the blog.

  • Working Party meeting Minutes - Links to meeting minutes for each of the QULOC Working Parties can be found on the membership page for each group.

  • Practitioner Groups - Meetings and networking opportunities for staff who work in specialised library areas.

  • Newsletters - Newsletters are produced biannually and highlight activities and initiatives of interest to all staff at QULOC institutions.

  • Working Regionally Testimonials - Produced by the Staffing Issues Working Party, these testimonials emphasise the benefits of working in regional locations.

Please Note: Fieldwork and Practicums
QULOC does not provide centralised support for library and information studies students seeking placements for fieldwork or practicums. Please contact institutions directly to make arrangements.
