QULOC offers all library staff in university libraries many opportunities for professional development:
  • QULOC wiki members area - Any staff member from a QULOC member library can sign up for access to the wiki, which allows Working Party and Reference Group members to work collaboratively and to access a central repository of information.
  • QULOC Blog - Meetings, workshops/events, and current vacancies in QULOC member institutions are often advertised on the blog.
  • QULOC Professional Development Scholarships
  • Working Party meeting Minutes - Links to meeting minutes for each of the QULOC Working Parties can be found on the membership page for each group.
  • Practitioner Groups - Meetings and networking opportunities for staff who work in specialised library areas.
  • Newsletters - Newsletters are produced biannually and highlight activities and initiatives of interest to all staff at QULOC institutions.
  • Annual Reports - A review of QULOC operations for each year.
  • QULOC Calendar of Events
  • Presentations and supporting resources - Each year, QULOC runs workshops which are generally open to any interested person.
  • Working Regionally Testimonials - Produced by the Staffing Issues Working Party, these testimonials emphasise the benefits of working in regional locations.
  • Graduate Librarian Program - provides new graduates with the opportunity to spend one year working in QULOC member libraries.
  • QULOC Inter-organisational Experience Program - supports library staff in QULOC member libraries to undertake secondments between libraries.
