Professional Development

QULOC offers all library staff in University libraries many opportunities for professional development.

  • Working Party meeting Minutes - Keep up to date with discussion in Working Parties in your area of interest
  • Annual Reports - A review of QULOC operations for each year
  • Newsletters - Newsletters are produced biannually and highlight activities and initiatives of interest to all staff at QULOC institutions
  • Presentations and supporting resources - Each year, QULOC runs workshops which are generally open to any interested person. If appropriate, presentations and supporting resources from these workshops are made publicly available
  • Practitioner meetings - Meetings and networking opportunities for staff who work in specialised library areas
  • QULOC wiki - Any staff member from a QULOC member library can sign up for access to the wiki, which allows Working Party and Reference Group members to work collaboratively and to access a central repository of information
  • QULOC Blog - Meetings, workshops, and vacancies in QULOC member institutions are often advertised on the blog. (If you would like to be notified by email when new blog posts appear, please advise the QULOC Executive Officer)
  • Employment Opportunities links - A list of employment links at each QULOC member institution. (Information about staff exchanges, the Graduate Librarian program and and fieldwork placements for students is available from the menu links above.)
